Find Your Motivation to Lose Weight With Before and After Photos

One way to help find your motivation to lose weight is to look at before and after photos of people who have already shed some pounds. The transformations that some people go through are really quite incredible.

Some people lose 100 pounds or more. Not only do they lose the weight, they also go to the gym and start working out, so they have a muscular body as well when all is said and done.

Seeing a photo of these people in their worst state and then immediately beside that seeing them in a healthy (not to mention proud) state can really inspire you. You think, "Look, that guy weighed 300 pounds. Now he has a bodybuilder's body. If he can do it, I can do it."

Also seeing so many people doing the same thing can have an effect on you too. Find some weight loss before and after pictures on the Internet and scroll through them. In all those hundreds of pounds that were lost in the dozens of photos you see is packed a lot of willpower, determination and refusal to not give up. There is the willingness to turn one's life around.

All these people had the moment where they realized they should do something about their condition and they took it into their own hands. Epiphany photos, if you will.

In some of the before and after photos people have lost smaller amounts of weight but still impressive. Some have lost 20 or 30 pounds or so. This is fantastic. Even these smaller amounts of weight can have a significant effect on your health.

What Else Can You Do to Find Your Motivation to Lose Weight?

How else can you find your motivation to lose weight? I highly recommend flipping through magazines, surfing the web, etc. and looking at photos of people who are in great shape, whether they've lost a lot of weight or not. Go to your local magazine rack and peruse the photos of athletes and bodybuilders.

Surf the web and find inspiring photos of people in great shape or doing some sport that you'd love to do. Some of the photographers out there have created very beautiful, compelling photos that can leave you thinking, "I want to be like that!"

Flip through some running magazines or some biking magazines. Bodybuilding magazines. Martial arts magazines. Kayaking or outdoor magazines. Yoga magazines. Then go to the web and you'll find tons more photos of people in shape, many of the photos beautifully done, some of them with inspiring phrases with them.

If there are people in the photos who are quite muscular, look at their muscles closely. I never noticed this before, but many people have different shaped muscles, even though they've been working out similarly. (For example, not everybody's abs look the same.)

Once I started looking at photos of people in shape, trying to get inspired, I started to notice this. Look at them and wonder what you'll look like if you start to work out and gain some muscle. What type of abs will you have? What about your legs? Or your back? Or your biceps?

Doing this kind of "image-gazing" can help you find your motivation to lose weight. I also recommend to continue doing it as you travel along your life's journey. It will help you be in the right frame of mind and have a healthier body for the rest of your life.
