Then there's the stationary bike. Put it in front of the TV. Watch your favourite shows while you pedal away in the comfort of your home. Talk on the phone. You don't have to go all out if you don't want to. Pedal slowly. Every little bit helps.

Cycling weight loss can occur at a very low cost. After the cost of buying a bike, you don't have to pay very much for many years. Bicycles can last a very long time. Regular maintenance should be done on them, but this is very inexpensive. Some people like to spend thousands on a bike, but you don't have to.

Bicycling can be a social activity. Head out with friends or family. Go out by yourself and meet some people in your neighbourhood. Some people travel the world looking for places to go biking. In the process they meet many different kinds of folk and get all the other benefits that travel can offer.

"I accomplished that!" they say. It makes you feel better about yourself than just sitting on the couch for years.

Cycling weight loss is fun, no matter how much you weigh. For those with a lot of weight to lose, cycling can sometimes be more enjoyable than pounding the pavement in your  runners.

But cycling is also good for those who like to go hard on the bike. Spinning classes can be quite intense. Know what you're getting into before you partake in one.

If your health allows it, you can sprint on the bike. Short sprints for, say, 30 seconds or so boost human growth hormone (HGH) in the body. HGH is essentially the fountain of youth. Sprinting also raises your metabolism and helps you burn more calories faster.

Cycling Weight Loss and the Brain

If you take two horses, one who has spent most of its life roaming wild, covering vast areas and canyons and avoiding rattlesnakes and such, and the other who has spent most of its life in a stall, and you analyze their brains at the end of their lives, they are markedly different.

My question is this. Would people's brains do the same thing if they lived similar lives? People who are outside and cover a lot of ground, versus people who largely stay inside and don't "roam free"? Cycling can get you outside and roaming free. Walking and running do too. The point I'm making is that being outside and moving around can be very beneficial to your health.
